Summarychecked both required items - tumble dryer & freezer - were in stock so ordered them and selected delivery date for one week hence. Money disappeared from account very quickly and confirmation email received.
the day before delivery was due tesco telephoned to say tumble dryer was out of stock and discontinued so this part of the order had been cancelled.
Next day, having distributed freezer contents far and wide amongst friends, disconnected and removed old freezer, I waited in all day. At 1700 checked the web site to find that Tesco never had any intention of supplying the unit on the due date so phoned to find out what was happening. Tesco answered phone after 20minutes but couldn't explain what was happening so they made enquiries and eventually phoned back to say that they would deliver it 4 days later. No good to us with food scattered throughout the neighbourhood so cancelled order. Final insult was being advised that it would take almost a week for them to give us our money back.
All in all very unsatisfactory and extremely frustrating. Not at all what you would expect from one of the leading retail outlets in the country (allegedly)

SummaryTesco - Direct Waste of My Time
I ordered a Dell inspiron laptop from the Tesco-direct website, no problems,
Next day they phoned my home and my partner answered the phone, girl called ellie said she wanted to speak to me about the order, alas i wasnt in and the girl said that she had to speak to me and could not call back later and would have to cancel the order.
I later got an E-mail saying the order was cancelled and my Credit Card had problems, Very worried (Scary Stuff) !!, Contacted my bank who were baffled by this and said my card was fine, just bought a fridge today with it and had no problems,
Upon reading other reviews it seems this is quite a common occurence with Tesco and trust me its very scary when they tell you your Credit Card is no good.
My partner said the girl on the phone was very nervous/unsure of what to do so just cancelled the order ?.
I have had problems with Tesco before but they usually take the money before the terrible customer service begins with robotic flow-chart answers which get you nowhere.
i Guess i will have to buy somewhere else as Tesco dont want my business which is fine as my confidence in them has been slowly ebbing away and has now gone.
Maybe did me a favour though as i found the same laptop at a better price.

Summarywashing machine order onbehalf of my parents. excellent delivery, was kept in contact with delivery status at all times , was even phoned @ 7.30am to give a more accurate delivery time on the day. delivery men bought item into my parents house unpacked the washing machine Tesco offered to recycle item for a small fee of £7.50

SummaryJust taken delivery of my new Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop from Tesco Direct. I needed a quick replacement as mine was stolen / misplaced last Friday night. hic ! Slight panic as I had a presentation to a new client! Dell site was saying 5-10 day delivery So was chuffed when I found them on Tesco site, Ordered first thing yesterday and arrived at 3.20pm,
Im impressed as is Wife as she collects clubcard points, got 1000+ as they are doing triple clubcard points.
Hope the presentation goes as well ?
